Before going into this article, I want to give my readers a background from where I am coming from with this article — I worked in a pain clinic for six months, I have chronic joint pain myself, I currently work in the medical-legal field, and I seriously considered becoming a chiropractor at one point in my life. More on that later.

Whenever someone mentions the word “chiropractor” online, it’s often met with harsh hostility. Despite this, many medical professionals across all types of therapies still strongly recommend chiropractors for pain patients, at least for short-term care (less than six months for continuity of care).

Curious about this, I started looking into the “why”, at least for the laymen (non-medically trained people) why chiropractors seemed to be the “devil” of the medical field. I did learn a few things.

Legal Issues

Every single chiropractor school in America has at some point been sued by former students. The reason? The students felt that the school did not properly prepare them for ‘real life circumstances and clients.
