Cybersex is sex
What is sex? When you break it down, sex or “sexual relations” effectively is two people connecting on an intense level. That lovely brain biochemical cocktail that encourages bonding and feelings of connection, regardless of what is actually transpiring between the individuals involved. Human beings are social creatures by nature, so it makes sense (regardless if one prefers one partner or polyamory) that we have activities to help encourage bonding for the means of survival and to help our emotional centers in our brain feel better about everything going on in our life.
Cybersex (sometimes called “cybering”, among many other nicknames it’s procured over the years) happens when the individuals involve take to their screen (through texts, emails, voice chats, webcam/videoing, etc.) to simulate sexual activity with each other (regardless of how this could be specifically defined as). A lot of people brush it off as “just some fantasy for people, it’s not real”, for many couples who are long distance (or adult industry workers where that’s how they make their living), it certainly can constitute as a legitimate form of a sexual relationship with someone.
Cybersex is one of the few options long distance couples have to explore sexuality with each other. Regardless of what form it takes, you can argue that it is still sex, just…
