Motherland Fort Salem is a breath of fresh air that’s much needed for the witch genre of TV shows

Note: I will do my best to be absolutely minimal with potential spoilers.

I absolutely adore Motherland Fort Salem. In short, it is a militant witch show. It takes place in the modern world with the idea of “what if the Salem witches made a deal with the government to avoid further persecution?” Hence why Fort Salem was created, for the future generation of lady witches (the boys have their own school) to grow their abilities in a safe area and to protect the United States citizens. However, as of late, tensions between witches and “regular people” have been rising.

The show focuses on three protagonists. Raelle, a healer witch with spunk. Tally, a witch whose abilities allow her to “see around things” and to pick up on details that others might completely not notice. Abigail, a witch who comes from a famous bloodline, is known for their abilities to cast powerful and dangerous storms whose name carries weight and influence in the witch world. We start the series with them first enrolling in Fort Salem, all of their families having different reactions to our three girls taking the oath to serve and protect the United States with their witch powers.
