Under Protection Dynamic Status
To be “under the protection” or “protecting” someone tends to be a dynamic strictly within the realm of BDSM, kink, and/or fetish. It’s a specific type of power dynamic where the one “protector” effectively acts what’s akin to a “guard dog” for the person that’s “under their protection”. Obviously, every dynamic is slightly different with how terms are defined and how they personally bring it into their own life.
Can this be done long distance? Yes. It makes things a little bit more complicated (and frankly difficult), but yes, this can be done over the digital web since communication over long distances is much easier to achieve nowadays (between texts, video calls, programs like Discord, etc.).
Being “under protection” doesn’t have to mean your “protector” is going to be super hostile toward anyone who so much looks at you the wrong way. It’s very similar to a traditional Dominant/submissive dynamic, but it does not have to be.
