We don’t have sharp teeth and claws like carnivores, but we do have ‘canines’ that can tear through meat-based products. Our bodies are basically in a “food limbo” where depending on how the future of mankind goes (as in — more plant vs meat products) we could adapt fully to being solely herbivores or solely carnivores. Our teeth and the rest of our GI systems have evolved as our migration patterns changed throughout history. I know what I’m talking about, I wrote a thesis paper specifically on the evolution of human teeth throughout the years.

Right now, our body can get nutritional benefits from both meat and plant products.
